Collection: King Cole Baby Alpaca DK

King Cole Baby Alpaca DK is a double knitting yarn made from 100% baby alpaca, spun in 50g balls with 100m to the ball. It knits on 4mm needles at a tension of 22 stitches and 28 rows to 10x10cm, so it slots straight into any standard DK pattern without recalculating.

Alpaca has a soft handle and a gentle drape, which makes this a good choice for next-to-skin knitting: baby cardigans and blankets, jumpers, hats and cowls. It has more warmth than its weight suggests, so bear that in mind when you are planning a heavier garment. We would suggest knitting a tension square before you cast on, as alpaca tends to relax with wear.
