Collection: MODE at Rowan Softest Alpaca

Mode at Rowan Softest Alpaca is an alpaca-rich yarn from Rowan, blending 70% alpaca with 7% wool and 23% polyamide. Each ball holds 130m, and the yarn knits up at a tension of 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm, which puts it in useful territory for jumpers, cardigans, hats and cowls that work up at a steady pace.

The alpaca gives real softness and warmth next to the skin, while the polyamide content lends the yarn a little resilience, so cuffs and edges hold their shape better than a pure alpaca would. It suits simple stocking stitch and gentle textures, where the halo of the fibre can be seen without competing with a busy pattern.
