Stylecraft Special Aran with Wool joins the familiar Special family, this time with wool in the mix. It is an aran weight yarn, so it works up quickly and gives good stitch definition on jumpers, cardigans, hats, mittens and blankets, as well as the sort of everyday knitting and crochet that gets worn week in, week out.

There are four shades in the range: Oatmeal, Denim, Grey and Tawny Nepp. They sit comfortably together, so it is straightforward to work colourwork, stripes or a simple two-tone yoke without hunting for matches elsewhere. Aran weight is also a sensible choice if you are teaching someone to knit, as the stitches are easy to see and count.
