Soft Shades for Little Ones: Stylecraft Bambino DK in Four Beautiful Colours

August is flying by, and here in Ledbury the long evenings are perfect for settling in with a project on the needles or hook. If you have a little one arriving soon — or know someone who does — this week we want to talk about one of our favourite baby yarn ranges: Stylecraft Bambino DK. We've just been admiring four lovely new colourways on the shelves, and honestly, it was quite hard not to cast on something immediately.

Bambino DK is a 100% premium acrylic yarn, which we know some knitters raise an eyebrow at — but hear us out. For baby projects, a well-made acrylic like Bambino really earns its place. It's ultra-soft against delicate skin, fully machine washable (an absolute must when tiny humans are involved), and at £3.70 for a generous 100g ball with 268 metres, it's wonderfully kind to the wallet too. Whether you're knitting up a quick newborn hat, a cosy blanket, or a little cardigan to gift at a baby shower, DK weight is the sweet spot — quick enough to feel satisfying, fine enough to show lovely stitch definition.

Stylecraft Bambino DK — Casual Khaki

There's something really appealing about an understated, earthy tone in a sea of pastel baby yarn. Casual Khaki is that warm, muted green-grey that feels genuinely modern and gender-neutral — brilliant if you're knitting for someone who hasn't found out the sex yet, or simply wants something a little different. We think it would look gorgeous worked up into a simple stocking stitch blanket with a garter stitch border, or paired with a cream or oatmeal shade for stripes.
